Wild and Scenic Rivers

The Southernmost Coastline is home to iconic, pristine rivers—earning the name Wild Rivers Coast. These waterways cut through forests, canyons, and valleys, offering easy access to adventure and quiet escapes.

The Rogue River: A classic for whitewater, fishing, and scenic floats—especially its lower stretch near Gold Beach with big views and gorges.

The Chetco River: Crystal-clear and calm in places, it flows from the Kalmiopsis to Brookings—great for paddling, swimming, and peaceful picnics.

The Elk River: A Port Orford gem known for clean water and strong salmon runs, with tranquil access points for short hikes and casting a line.

The Sixes River: Quiet and lightly traveled, ideal for mellow kayaking, wildlife watching, and unhurried time along the banks.

Each river has its own character, but all share the same untamed beauty—perfect for paddling, fishing, or simply listening to the water.
